Solidarity Art & Fashion Raffle for Palestine is a one-day-event and art raffle with poetry readings, performance and vegan snacks. All funds raised go directly to Palestine.

Alongside the raffle Crafts4Gaza will be selling their works and crafts with proceeds going to Palestine. We’ll also be selling vegan snacks and ice tea.

Participation to raffle only on-site and from 17- 20. Winners announced at 8pm! Raffle tickets costs 5-10 € each on a sliding scale according to financial means.

The funds raised from the art raffle will go to Hakoritna Farm, a farm in the occupied West Bank that has already previously been destroyed by the IOF and is now under threat of demolition. The IOF continues its attacks on Palestinians and their right to food sovereignty, and has ordered the destruction of the Hakoritna farm in Tulkram, the occupied West Bank. The farm is owned by the Taneeb family, who now urgently need solidarity and support in their efforts to save their farm. The order to close and destroy the farm is a deliberate attack on the Palestinians’ right to food sovereignty in the shadow of the Israeli occupation and the deliberate starvation of the Palestinians. Welcome to our Ice Cream Bar on Saturday (June 7) from 13-17! We’ll sell vegan ice cream sandwiches and coffee drinks.

The year 2025 marks a decade of Lymy’s existence in Helsinki, so we gather to celebrate our first ten years of building a life in common. We inaugurate the anniversary year with a Lymy Aperitivo on Friday the 25th of April. The festivities will culminate in a ten year party in late fall.

Welcome to the first Varjokirjajulkkarit by Varjokirjamessut and Lymy! Varjokirjajulkkarit is an unofficial book launch and book distribution event. On Friday, January 31, we will hear about the anthology Constellations of Care: Anarcha-Feminism in Practice. Leona Kotilainen will interview the book’s editor Cindy Barukh Milstein who will join us remotely. We will also have a reading by Vilja Saarinen, who contributed a piece to the anthology.

We warmly invite you to our party on Saturday 7th of December 18-22 to celebrate Lymy’s 9 year journey as a community and movement space in Kallio. There will also be the an opportunity to give a contribution to support our friend and comrade in need.

The celebration will start with a kids’ party from 15-18 with program before the evening event. Mark your calendars—more details TBA.

A couple of years ago a small group of people in Copenhagen gathered to discuss money, how we could have more of it, share more of it and collectively improve our lives. One of the experiments that started a year ago is a Rotating Savings and Credits Association – a ROSCA. Some members of the group will give a presentation on the project in Lymy on August 12th, 2024.

Globally a ROSCA is a commonplace practice for saving and loaning money in communities, but in Northern Europe it is more rare and unknown. It is a rather simple financial practice that enables loans and savings without or in spite of banks and it can make possible life choices that hegemonic institutions rob or exclude us from.

The comrades from Copenhagen will give a presentation on what a ROSCA is and share some experiences and lessons learnt from their first year of the experiment.

Ensimmäinen tapaamiskertaa on tiistaina 8. lokakuuta klo 17-19. Lukupiiri kokoontuu tästäeteenpäin joka toinen tiistai samaan kellonaikaan.

Ensimmäisellä kerralla kirjailija ja podcastaaja Pontus Purokuru alustaa Pääomasta ja miten sitä kannattaa lukea. Alustuksen jälkeen on tilaa kysymyksille ja keskustelulle Marxin lukemisesta.
